Mark Horton Jensen passed away on January 27, 2024 at Swedish Hospital after a decades long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Mark was born on December 16, 1970 in Utah to Richard and Diane Jensen. Mark, the youngest of three kids, was born with a passion for cars and mischief as a young boy. In 1977 his family moved to Colorado where he attended school until his graduation from Gateway High School in 1989. While in his teens and 20's, his passion for cars and racing at Bandimere Speedway was his niche. His prize possesion was a 1970 Chevy Nova. He loved his car and took pride in repairing, souping up, and showing it off with fellow "car guys". He worked for Albertsons and built lifelong friendships with fellow co-workers. In approximately 1995, the devastating effects of MS no longer allowed him to retain his employment and his journey continued. Everyone who met Mark over the years absolutely loved him and mentioned his amazing smile and positive attitude when dealing with his devastating disease. Mark's mom, Diane, provided one-to-one care for Mark and managed all of his needs. This important and critical oversight and love, allowed him to stay on earth with his friends and family for many, many years longer than medical professionals predicted. Mark was a larger than life presence with a 6'5" height and a smile to match. His bravery and love for life was always apparent and has been the first thing family and friends remember about this amazing son, brother, and friend. Mark is preceded in death by Richard Jensen (father) and survived by Diane Jensen (mother), Kris Giebler (sister), Sherrie Oehrlein (sister), Roger Jensen (1/2 brother), Andrea Jensen (1/2 sister) 8 nieces/nephews and 3 great nieces/nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions or gifts to MaxFund Animal Adoption Center | Denver's No-Kill Animal Shelter | Denver Animal Rescue.
