Celebrating the Life of Alain Akmel
Alain fought a courageous battle with cancer but on October 17, 2025, he went home to be with the Lord. He was 37 years old.
Alain was born in Ivory Coast on May 28, 1988. He moved to Colorado in 2003 and attended Gateway High School. He had many jobs throughout his career but his passion was always cooking. He was the one on the grill or in the kitchen cooking whenever there was a party or a get together. He loved cooking so much that he wanted to make a career out of it. Alain was planning to buy a food truck before he found out about the cancer.
In 2016, Alain and Chaltu started dating and shortly after she became pregnant with their daughter, Malia. She was born in 2017 and the moment Alain laid his eyes on his daughter, he fell in love with her and they became inseparable. He was an exceptional father to Malia and also to Trey his stepson. He loved his family very much and worked so hard to make sure they were taken care of.
Alain was preceded in death by his cherished mother, Rosalie Amary.
Alain is survived by his daughter, Malia Akpa, his father Akpa Konate, his sisters Linda, Jojo, Dani, and his brother Christian.
Alain had a smile that lit up any room he walked into. Everyone that met him, fell in love with his genuine heart and sense of humor. He was a best friend to all and always created an unbreakable bond. He was always making jokes and making everybody around him laugh. Alain’s life was a reflection of perseverance, courage and commitment. As he once said “You will face many defeats in life.. but never let yourself be defeated.” He was one of a kind and will be missed very dearly.
