It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mark Alan Kohl, affectionately known as "Peno" by friends and family, at the age of 39. Mark Alan was born in Canton on December 13, 1985, at Aultman Hospital. And he passed away March 5, 2025 in his home. He attended McKinley High School, and later got his GED after facing, and overcoming many obstacles along the way. At the time of his passing, Mark Alan was also enrolled in college classes, pursuing his dream of being a successful writer. Mark Alan has a plethora of family members who care for him deeply and will miss him every day. Those left to cherish Mark Alan's memory include, but are definitely not limited to, his mother, Janet (Kohl) Smith (Lois), and his father, Mark Alan Henderhan, along with his stepfather Stephen Smith, and his stepmother, Etta Yentz. His grandmother, Mollie Kohl. His children, Kayleana Raelynn Kohl (Babygirl), Ariellah Renesemayé Kohl (Pretty), Ameileeana RosaLee Kohl (Minnie), and Koen Alan Kohl (his "Babyboy"). His sisters, Jennifer (Cox) Eddy (Fur Fur), who unfortunately passed away, Kathleen Yentz (Alice), and Arin Uniatowski. Along with his only brother, Kristian Burkhart. He will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Thomas Cox (Tubby), Heavynn Cox (Sister), Abel Cox, Noah Aimalefoa, Matthew Hight Jr, Harley Winters, and Lily Winters. Mark Alan also held a lot of love for the mothers of his children, Constance Wolak and Autumn Comstock. His free time was spent writing poetry, and song lyrics, playing dice, dominos and cards. Mark Alan always enjoyed going on long walks, he couldn't go on one without bumping into a friend. He was a great cook, and he loved throwing barbecues for his friends and family. He was also an avid Chicago Bulls fan. Mark Alan would be described as having a poetic soul and a kind heart. Anyone who knew Mark Alan would agree that it was impossible to have a conversation with him without smiling. If you asked his mom, she would say he has a "sh*t eating grin", and his dimples would be shining through it all. Mark Alan will forever be missed, and his memory forever cherished. We will be wearing red and black in his memory, this is not mandatory.
