Jerry Kohl Obituary
Jerry Konrad Kohl, age 86 of Strasburg passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, in his home following a period of declining health.
Born in Dover, on June 17, 1939, Jerry was a son of the late Edward F. and Della (Knisely) Kohl.
Jerry was a dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life. He began his career in the coal mines before starting his own land reclamation business, driven by a commitment to leaving the land better than he found it. Beyond his work, Jerry embraced life with a spirit of adventure. He was a licensed pilot, enjoyed flying RC airplanes, raced motorcycles, and cherished time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Renee (Jeff) Friermor of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brian (Donna Harper) Kohl of Strasburg, and Mike (Stacy) Kochman of Columbus; grandchildren, Tyler (Madeline) Abugov, Adam (Luna) Abugov, and Amber (Matt) Warner; great-grandchildren, Miriam Abugov, Liliana Abugov, and Reese Loveday; brother, Jim (Rita) Kohl; sister, Judy (Jack) Hipper; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Kohl.
Cremation care has been entrusted to the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A Memorial Service will begin in the funeral home beginning at 3:00 PM.
Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name be directed to Tuscarawas Humane Society, 1432 Tall Timber Rd NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
