Mark William Koontz 65 of Pennington gap VA passed away on July 21, 2025.
He was born to parents Leonard Koontz and France strokes on 03/16/1960 in Clinton Maryland.
Mark worked primarily as an auto mechanic for years, however he was a jack of all trades from handyman services to full home remodeling.
He enjoyed fishing, nascar, horse race betting and would never pass up an opportunity pick some crabs with a Budweiser.
Mark is survived by his daughter Missy Bowden, son in law Justin Bowden, two grandsons Evan Herbert and Ayden Herbert.
Sisters Linda her two kids Robbie and his wife Jessica and Joey.
Dawn and her two kids Sarah and amber.
Kelly and her two kids Amanda and Eric.
Brother Mike and his wife Valerie.
His best friend James McConkey niece Nikki Royer and many great nieces and nephews.
Mark has gone to a better place where he is probably already stirring up some trouble!
He was a delightful handful!
Mark may have lived in Virginia in the end be he was always a Maryland boy at heart.
Per his wishes, Mark will be cremated with no formal services.
Mark William Koontz and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.
