Brian S. Koontz, 75, of Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly.
Born in Philadelphia, Brian spent his early years in Moorestown, NJ, before moving to Southampton 25 years ago. He proudly served in the United States Army, joining the Military Police in 1969. After being honorably discharged, Brian went on to enjoy a successful 40-year career as a Steel Worker with US Steel. In his retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by owning and operating a local Dairy Queen in Burlington, NJ, where he touched many lives in the community.
Brian had a deep passion for Ford muscle cars, he always enjoyed attending drag races. However, it was his collection of small cars that truly brought him pride and joy. Beyond cars, Brian had a love for music and was an enthusiastic collector of vinyl records. He was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh, leaving an impression on all who knew him. Brian is predeceased by his parents, Louis Koontz, Frances and Bill Lesher. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Koontz, his daughters, Kristina (Eric Thelander), Tracey Ballinghoff, and his granddaughter Callie Ballinghoff, as well as many dear friends.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. Family and friends are asked to arrive by 12:35 PM to join in the service.
