Mark Lacey went on to be with our Lord and Savior on February 3, 2025, after 70 years of living and breathing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Lacey; mother and father, Ann Beverly and Donald, and his sister, Lynn. He is survived by his daughter, Shelby (Chad), and his sons, Shawn and Johnny. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jaxon, Lane, Paisley, and Carter, as well as his sister, Nanette (Ron), and his niece and nephew, Heather and Terry.

Originally born in Odessa, TX, Mark grew up in Camden, AR, where he graduated from Camden High School in 1972. He then went on to earn his degree in nursing from Auburn University. He was a proud War Eagle Alumni. Mark proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant (E-4) from 1974 to 1980 before dedicating his life to a long and fulfilling career as a registered nurse. His compassion, attention to detail, and unwavering commitment to his patients and co workers made a lasting impact, and he took great pride in his ability to care for others.

Mark will be remembered for his gentle presence, quick wit, and meticulous nature—he was the most Type A person you could meet, always writing everything down. He had a deep love for breakfast food, believing no meal was better than a good stack of pancakes or a plate of bacon and eggs. He was also a man of deep empathy, serving as a foster parent and opening his home to children in need. At some point in his life, he became an ordained minister, further reflecting his devotion to serving others.

Beyond his profession, Mark had a passion for amateur radio, enjoying his time as part of the RX Ham Radio Club, where he found joy in making connections over the airwaves. He also had a soft spot for animals and a playful side that never faded. Some of his favorite characters included Eeyore, SpongeBob, and Charlie Brown, which always brought him joy and laughter.

Above all, Mark cherished his family and the simple joys of life. He was a great father and even better pawpaw. His legacy of kindness, humor, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends of Mark are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home at 75212 Hwy 437, Covington, LA on Saturday, March 15, 2025 with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM and the service to follow at 1:00 PM.
