Mark F. Lichte February 2, 1957 – May 11, 2025

Mark F. Lichte, 68, of Higginsville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lexington, Missouri, on February 2, 1957, Mark was the son of Forrest A. and Glady A. Lichte.

After graduating from Lexington High School in 1975, Mark pursued higher education at Dallas Christian College (DCC), later earning a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Missouri. It was at DCC that he met Sylvia Jane Northrup, who later changed her name to Destiny. They married in July 1980 and built a life grounded in faith, family, and dedication.

Mark was known for his hard work, generous spirit, and signature sense of humor. A lifelong learner, he had a passion for history, genealogy, farming, and raising animals—always a farmer at heart, no matter where life took him, even during his years in San Antonio, Texas.

A skilled craftsman and business owner, Mark operated a successful glass and mirror company in San Antonio, earning the respect of clients and colleagues through his dedication and workmanship. He was a Board Member of the Lexington Missouri Historical Association and Museum, member of Trinity United Church of Christ (UCC) Church, and member of the Moose Lodge in Lexington. He enjoyed card and board games and spending time with friends and family.

Mark was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his three children: Ruby Lichte Powers (Burak Powers), David Lichte (Drielle Lichte), and Emily Lichte Bucher (Brad Bucher). He was a proud grandfather to Rex, Violet, Austin, Abigail, Andrew, and Joshua. He is also survived by his siblings, Scott Lichte, Janeece Dent-Bennett, and Ruth Monson.

Mark’s legacy of unique humor, resilience, and dedication lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of Mark's life will be at the church at 11:00 am followed by a lunch. A private family inurnment will take place at Salem Cemetery, Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to C.A.R.
