It is with great sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Mark Peter Lidstrom. Mark passed away on August 13, 2025, at his home in Bonney Lake, Washington, at 60 years of age. He was born in Whitefish, Montana, on April 17, 1965, to Shirley and Vernon "Sonny" Lidstrom. Mark was happily welcomed to the family by his three older siblings, Marcia, Melodie, and Mike. At the time, the family lived on a farm, but on Mark's second birthday they moved to town, where he grew up.

He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. As a youth, he played baseball and basketball, and loved fishing and skiing. He and his dad enjoyed flying model airplanes, and when his dad completed his pilot's license, Mark loved to go along and sometimes took over the controls. His mom always had fresh baked goodies for him and his buddies.

As a typical teenager, Mark loved music and cars. He graduated from high school in 1983. Mark loved going back to his reunions and always had a great time. Many of his classmates became lifelong friends. He was always a good student, and after high school attended MSU in Bozeman for two years. With encouragement from his friend Quang, he followed in his dad's footsteps and joined the Navy. This was a pivotal move for Mark because the education he received there shaped his future life. The training he received as an electronics technician became his career for the next 36 years.

Mark was stationed in San Diego and served aboard the USS Cowpens. He was proud of his service as a decorated veteran of the First Gulf War. A very special part of his time in the Navy was meeting his future wife, Julie Steinbrink, who also served. After Julie and Mark married, they built a life together in Bonney Lake, Washington, for 23 years. Mark held several electronic technician and field service jobs before starting at Boeing, where he worked for 16 years until his passing.

In 2017, Mark married Margarita Rybnikov and became a stepfather to her two children, Lisa and Eugene. He enjoyed being in the role of dad for the first time. Although he and Margarita divorced last year, he continued to have a relationship with Eugene.

Mark worked hard, but he also loved to play. He loved fishing, golfing, and riding his motorcycle whenever he had the chance, making many friends along the way. For many years, he enjoyed skiing on Big Mountain, where he was affectionately called "Liddy." He enjoyed trips to Alaska where he fished, sailed, and rafted.

Mark had lots of energy. He was excitable and passionate, and he felt everything deeply. He loved his family and friends, and many felt he was their best friend or brother. He made people feel important. Mark loved little kids and would play with them like he was one of them-he was forever young. He loved his animals and spoiled them. He would get excited when his first tulips bloomed or when his trees flowered. He loved simple things like sitting by a river or resting at his cousin Tim's place, where he could contemplate life. We pray that he is at peace now. We will always love you, Mark, and miss you.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Sonny and Shirley; his brother, Mike; and his nephew, Johnny. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters Marcia (Joe) and Melodie (Ray); his former wives, Julie and Margarita, with stepchildren Lisa and Eugene; his nephews Jeremy (Tracey), Josh (Shauna), Joey (Sara), and Ryan (Stacie); and his nieces Melissa (Gordon) and Hillary. He also leaves behind six great-nephews, nine great-nieces, a few great-great-nieces and nephews, his uncle Duane, aunts Pat, Ginger, Carole, and Paula, as well as many cousins and very dear friends.

There will be two memorial services. The first will be in Bonney Lake on September 21 at noon at 27912 Webster Road East, Graham, Washington, 98338. The second will be in Whitefish, Montana, on October 4 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church.
