Mark Keith Lytle, 68, of Asheville, formerly of Old Fort, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at his residence.
Mark was born in McDowell County, NC on November 17, 1955, to Coretha Logan Lytle and the late Melvin Eugene Lytle. He served his county proudly in the United States Army and was a member of Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church in Old Fort. Mark enjoyed working on cars, was an excellent cook, and a talented carpenter. He loved being around people and never knew a stranger. He will always be remembered for his smile and his great sense of humor.
In addition to his father, Mark was preceded in death by a sister, Sharron Denise Lytle; and a brother, Melvin Douglas Lytle.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Coretha Lytle; a daughter, Tracy Smith; a sister, Janet Green; four brothers, Tommy Lytle, Waymon Lytle, Eddie Lytle, and Dennis Lytle; one grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A going home celebration will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Catawba View Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald Sullivan and Pastor Carlos McKoy will officiate. Burial will follow at Old Fort Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
