Mark passed away March 25, 2024, age 63. The son of Richard and Arlene (Swiss) Madaj, he was born January 7, 1961, in Bay City. Mark attended St. Stanislaus grade school and later graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1979. He worked as a chef at Big John's Lamplighter in Frankenmuth for many years, Harbor House in Bay City, Montague Inn Bed and Breakfast in Saginaw, and retired from his part time job at Lowe's in Saginaw. Mark enjoyed repurposing things, looking for antiques, visiting casinos in Michigan, and loved riding his golf cart around Florida.
Mark is survived by his life partner Tim Wessely, his parents Dick and Arlene Madaj, two brothers Alan Madaj and Jeff Madaj (Maria), and his extended Florida family and friends Mark grew to know over the years. Mark was predeceased by his sister Denise Madaj.
The Funeral Mass for Mark will be celebrated Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Nicholas Coffaro will celebrate Mass and private inurnment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, Michigan. Family and friends will gather at the church on Tuesday, May 28th from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to the American Lung Association. Final arrangements were entrusted to Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Ave., Bay City, MI 48708.
