Mark W. Manderville Sr.

1949 - 2024

Mark W. Manderville, Sr., 75, of Clayville, passed away, peacefully, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

He was born in Schenectady, NY, on April 4, 1949, a son of the late Mark Earl and Dorthea Mae (Bullis) Manderville. He was a 1967 graduate of Proctor High School. On December 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Mary L. Hand at St. Anthony's Parish Church, in Chadwicks, a loving union of over 54 years.

Mark was employed, for many years, as a welder at Partlow Corporation until the company moved its operations to North Carolina, in 1999, at which time Mark chose to return to college obtaining a certification in CNC Machinery. Upon his graduation, Mark accepted a position at MVCC as Physical Sciences – Engineering Applied Technology Assistant, where he was employed until his retirement.

Mark had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift of making light of any situation with an appropriate or inappropriate joke. Not one to remain idle, he kept busy in his spare time, enjoying the outdoors, gardening, hunting and fishing with family and friends. The great memories he made with family and friends will be forever cherished.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary L. Manderville; his daughters, Dawn and James Heinrich and Lorrie and James Foss; son, Mark Manderville, Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda Heinrich, Karla Heinrich (Steve Martin), Katelynn Mieslin (Mike), Dalton Washburn, Sarah Washburn, Miranda Foss and Dawson Foss; great-grandchildren, Madison, Sabastian, Benjamin, Jonah and Emmett; nephews, Richard and Thaddeus Fransman; nieces, Janice O'Sullivan (Dennis) and Jean Housekeeper; and also several great-nieces and nephews.

Mark was predeceased by his sister, Dara Fransman; son-in-law, Tom Washburn; and a grandson, Thomas P. Washburn.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit. A short prayer service will follow. Interment will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.
