Mark A. Mastrangelo

Mark A. Mastrangelo, 80, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025, at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
Born Aug. 23, 1944, in Cleveland, Mark had previously lived in Willoughby before moving to Sandusky 20 years ago.
Mark had worked as a teacher for Wickliffe City Schools and a NAMS Certified Marine Surveyor. He was the past Commodore for the Grand River Sailing Club and the Grand River Yacht Club.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mark was a life-long learner and loved to share his knowledge with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid boater, both sailboats and power boats, who loved being on the water. Mark enjoyed flying his plane around the Lake Erie Islands. He was always working on something. Mark sponsored local race cars, due to his love of the sport. A resident of Water Island USVI, Mark participated in the construction of homes and cisterns.
Mark was the loving father of Kristen (Stuart) Butcher and Kendell Mastrangelo; cherished grandfather of Sofia and Kleo Butcher; brother of Lawrence (Peggy) Mastrangelo, James Mastrangelo, Peter Mastrangelo (Maxine Parsons), Jacqueline Mastrangelo (Perry Pollack, dec), Judy (Gary) Krasovic, Mary Lou Gregel, Louise Fishleigh and Helen (Mark) Gordon; uncle of 26 nieces and nephews; great-uncle to many; former step-father of Natalie (Thomas) Felter, Erin (Gary) Machado and Kaitlin (Joe) Bonanno; and former husband of Karen Schaefer and Kathleen Rossi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Helen (nee Semancik) Mastrangelo; and brother, John Mastrangelo.
Family will receive friends from 12 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Private burial at a later date will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
