LOUISVILLE / BOMBAY -- It is with heavy hearts and joyful memories that we announce the passing of Mark F. McCabe (Squatch), 63, who passed away on May 23, 2025 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Brushton, NY at 11 a.m. with Rev. Kris Lauzon presiding.
Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Bombay following the services. Family and friends may call at St. Mary's Church in Brushton from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Mark is survived by his soulmate, Carole Anne Latulipe; his mother, Priscilla McCabe; a brother, Eric and his wife Dawn McCabe; his step-son, Steven and Justina Latulipe, his three nieces, Megan, Krista and Mckenzie McCabe; two great nephews, Liam McCaffrey and Kian Matthys, one great niece, Irelynne McCaffrey, his grandchildren, Beau and Elizabeth Latulipe as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Mark was pre-deceased by his father, Frank, a brother Michael and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Born on September 23, 1961 in Malone, NY, Mark is the son of Frank and Priscilla (Yaddow) McCabe. He graduated from Salmon River Central School, Class of 1979 and furthered his education at Canton ATC, graduating in 1981. He worked several years as an ironworker before entering into Corrections in 1988. He worked for NYSDOCCS for just over 30 years, retiring in 2018 as a Correctional Sergeant. Mark enjoyed snowmobiling with his friends, hunting, fishing and hockey, especially when he was the Assistant Coach of the 1992 State Champions. In the last few years, he has enjoyed time with his grandchildren, especially his little buddy, Beau. Mark's ability to make people laugh and classic comments will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mark's memory can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Bombay Fire Department/Rescue Squad.
