Mark McElfresh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Messinger Mortuaries- Indian School Mortuary on Sep. 2, 2023.
Mark McElfresh, 63, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving children on August 26, 2023.
He was born to Mary and Charles McElfresh on April 7, 1960, in Noblesville, Indiana. Mark was curious and bright in his younger years and followed his passion for engineering while studying at his beloved alma mater, the University of Dayton. After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Process Technology, Mark dedicated his career to the field of engineering, specifically in product design, development, and manufacturing. He spent over 20 years of his esteemed career with West Pharmaceutical Services, most recently serving as the Vice President of Engineering, Global Operations, before retiring in 2022.
Mark was an incredibly loving and supportive father and is survived by his three children, Amanda, Matt, and Megan. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children, and he was always there for them, whether providing guidance on their career choices or helping them with projects around their homes.
Aside from his love of family, Mark was passionate about sports, especially soccer and lacrosse. He served as a collegiate-level lacrosse referee with the Arizona Lacrosse Officials Association, where he enjoyed being active and participating in one of his favorite sports. Mark also had a strong passion for travel, inspired by his mother, Mary. From traveling the country in his camper van to visiting cultural sites across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, he lived an adventurous life, exploring and learning new things across the globe.
While Mark left us far too soon, his impact on his family and friends will be felt for years to come. His family will host a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. The service will be held at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider making a donation to the University of Dayton School of Engineering in Mark's name.
