Very sad to hear this. Mark was a kind and compassionate colleague. A true leader.

Mark was my boss at Motorola Codex for several years. He was an excellent engineer and a great boss. He was also one of the hardest workers I have ever encountered. And I have many fond memories of our years working together. Even after he left Motorola we would often tell Mark Miner stories and always with a smile. He was loved.
My sincere condolences to his family. I am sure he will be missed.

Dave (Mac) McNamara chiming in here.
I worked for and with Mark early in my career at Motorola/Codex, as did my brother Tom. Mark brought a very unique balance of professionalism, creativity, deep analysis, a keen understanding of both the science and art of engineering and above all a quick sense of humor. You always knew if Mark found something funny by the huge smile, and bulging veins in his facial expressions. He was admirably contagious. His passion for family, friends and co-workers was only matched by his love for sailing. But he always found some way to work in some fishing... be it on the McNamara "stinkpot" as he would refer to our power boat or hanging off the stern of his sailboat. I can truly say that my memories of time spent working with or sailing with or just hanging out with Mark were always a pleasure, a learning experience but above all just fun. God Bless you my dear friend. Rest in Peace!

To Mark Miner's family:
My name is Jack Moran and I worked with Mark on many Codex Products that effectively started from the day I joined (then Codex) in 1981 until the day Mark Left then called Motorola in 2000.
All I can say is that he was both a very smart and dedicated engineer and it was an honor to work with Mark for a significant part of the 19 years that we were both at Codex together. I did happen to notice in the obituary that it was mentioned that Mark was the holder a few US PATENTS. Well I am co-inventor on one of Mark's US Patents along with Mike Cooper as well and the patent # is US 6,757,253 B1. If the family is interested in receiving a copy of an actual US PATENT that Mark held from his Codex days I would gladly send it.
I have looked at the patent a few times today already and with it comes memories of the engineering effort we shared together and I am certain Mike Cooper would feel the same way.
Again I am profoundly sorry for your loss and Mark made a difference during his time on earth and he will be missed.

I have very fond memories of Mark. I worked as a Receptionist at Airvana/Commscope before retiring 4 years ago. We had many conversations at the front desk. Accept my condolences for your loss.
