Mark Wayne Monroe, 62, of Granit City, IL, died at 2:30 a.m. Sun. Oct. 5, 2025 at Christina Extended Care and Rehab in St. Louis, MO.

He was born Dec. 7, 1962 in Granite City to the late John and Elnora (Heinz) Monroe.

Mark married Karan R. Dean in Granite City. She survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, John (Brenda) Monroe, a sister, Kathy Monroe, a nephew, Timmy Monroe, and his 2 beloved dogs, Ollie and Chloe.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Ann Monroe, and 3 brothers: Jim, Danny, and Harold Monroe.
