Mark E. Nelligan, 66, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on April 23, 2025, at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville.
Mark was married to his loving wife, Karla (Gordan) Nelligan, for 39.5 years. He was a graduate of Reitz High School and worked at Sabic and GE for over 30 years. In his leisure time, Mark loved working outdoors; whether it be working on cars, tinkering in the garage, or fixing anything that was broken or needed a little TLC. He "knew a little bit about everything" and was happy to share his expertise. Mark was always there with a helping hand or some needed advice for anyone who needed it. He always made time for his kids' sporting events and looked forward to a family vacation to the beach every year.
Mark was a longtime member of the Westside Sportsman Club and an inductee of the Greater Evansville Football Hall of Fame.
Survivors include his wife, Karla; daughter, Katelyn Nelligan (Terry) of Madison, WI; son, Michael (Shauna) of Mt. Vernon; sister, Sharon (Steve) Bryant; brother, Jim (Diana), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death are his father and mother, Eugene and Juanita (Jamison) Nelligan; brothers, Dennis and John; nephew, Scott; and faithful dog, Roxie; and grand dog, Addie.
Arrangements are entrusted to Denning Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life is to be arranged at a later date.
