Mark Allen Newton of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on November 11, 2024. Mark was born on January 10,1951 to William Smith Newton and Carolyn Jean Oldham Newton in Greensburg, Indiana. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1969. Marks mother and three of his 5 siblings moved to Shreveport, LA in 1973 with Mark joining them in 1974. Mark worked at various auto supply stores in Shreveport and was also a Distribution Manager for the Shreveport Times. He happily retired in 2019, where he enjoyed watching his sports and wrestling and listening to Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues and many other artist.
Mark was our Gentle and quiet Giant whom we will miss very much.
Mark was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. (Oris and Elva Oldham and Forrest and Jennie Newton) His father William Smith Newton, his mother Carolyn Jean Oldham Newton, his brother William Oldham Newton, and his nephew Matthew Edward Newton.
He is survived by his sister n law Jacqueline Newton, his brothers Miles Newton (Pam), Scott Newton (Carol), Vincent Newton ( Diane) and his favorite sister Faith Newton, along with 5 nieces, 3 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the charity of your choice.
