Mark O'Hare Obituary

Mark O'Hare
September 24, 1990 ~ January 7, 2026
Mark "Moose" O'Hare
This week, the universe dimmed just a little as our Moose's journey on this planet has drawn to a close, but his spirit is now among the stars-far beyond the constraints of time and space. Mark, Whovian extraordinaire, is now off on his ultimate quest. His first stop will be a brief detour through the pearly gates to pick up his halo from St. Peter and have a cheeseburger in paradise before he fully embarks on his adventures, time traveling with the Doctor.
Mark was born on September 24, 1990, and departed this Earth for his next great adventure on January 7, 2026. He was raised in East Haven and proudly graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2013. He moved with his mom and brother to Branford in 2014 and resided there until his passing.
Moose lived a life defined by curiosity, kindness, and the sort of infectious laughter that could light up a universe. Like a true companion of the Doctor, he faced the unknown with bravery and courage, sought out the extraordinary in the everyday, and always stood ready to offer a helping hand. He will be remembered for his quick wit, boundless imagination, and his deep love for the world of Doctor Who. His passion for the series was more than a hobby-it reflected his own adventurous and curious spirit. He was the embodiment of understanding that life -like time-was best experienced with wonder and good company.
He leaves behind his mom Sandy, a steadfast presence throughout his life; his devoted brother Matt, his partner in all things; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who were a big part of his life; his precious dog Patsy, who brought him immeasurable joy and companionship; and his father Robert.
Though gone too soon, his memory will continue to live on in every story shared and in every smile he inspired. The next time you hear the wheeze of the TARDIS or glimpse a blue police box, think of Mark. Remember his joy, his kindness, his imagination, and his unwavering optimism in the face of alien odds. As the Doctor reminds us, "The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don't always spoil the good things or make them unimportant."
A celebration Mark's amazing life will take place on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to CT Hospice in Branford, so that others, too, may travel their final journeys with the same comfort, dignity, compassion, and peace that Mark had in his final days. As Mark often quoted, "We're all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I am so very sorry to learn of Mark´s passing. I was one of Mark´s teachers at Ferrara School in East Haven, and I remember him fondly as a kind, compassionate, and very special child who was always smiling. As a teacher who has met and worked with so many children, it´s ones like Mark who you don´t forget. Please accept my deepest sympathies to his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
