Mark M. Piechota, 67, of Bethlehem, passed away on August 9, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 28, 1957, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Stanley F. and Mary M. (Michaels) Piechota.
A graduate of Freedom High School, Mark began his career in the metal fabrication industry at Apollo Metal. His love for racing led him to become a proud member of Piechota Racing, where he raced stock cars at Dorney Park. In the late 1970s, Mark, along with his family, established the Piechota Brothers auto body collision shop, where worked for many years.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mark enjoyed carpentry and found solace in the great outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he cherished moments spent fishing in the serene waters of New York. Mark was also a faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bethlehem. Mark was also his parents primary caregiver for many years.
Mark will be dearly missed by his two sisters, Joan (Forrest) Voytko, of Hecktown, and Janet A. (James T.) Fandl; seven nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his brother, Gregory J. Piechota.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
