Private family services are planned to celebrate and remember the life of Mark Lewis Potteiger. Mark passed away at his home in Claremore on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was 61.
Born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 30, 1963, to Jay and Helen (Hughes) Potteiger. Mark was raised and educated in Claremore and graduated from Claremore High School with the Class of 1982. The father of three children, Tyler, Michael, and Keely. Mark provided for his family working as a Chemical Supervisor Operator for Air Products and Versum.
A man that was a hard worker and not only considered dedicated, but dependable on his job. Mark's priority at his job was to make sure the needs of his family were met. He was a father that was involved in his children's lives and activities. Mark was their biggest fan and encourager.
A true outdoorsman, Mark liked to fish. Salt Creek and Land of The Trees on Oologah Lake were a favorite spot to do just that. He was an avid hunter and bow hunter. Deer, duck, quail, pheasant, and dove were a few of the things he hunted. When it came to sports, he was a die hard Sooner fan and if he could catch the game on television, that's where you would find Mark.
When free time did present itself, Mark enjoyed riding bikes at Claremore Lake or stopping at a few yard sales. He liked to cook and when friends and family gathered, he was the go-to person for firing up the grill.
A man that has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of his children, family and friends. Mark is survived by his children, Michael Potteiger, Keely Potteiger and Weston Vestal, Tyler Mallory and wife Jasmine, grandchildren, Traceton Vestal, Marlin Rhodes Potteiger and Preston Mallory, brothers, Tim Potteiger and wife Patty, and Mike Potteiger, sister, Shannon Lanigan, stepfather, Hobart Molder, and numerous, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
