Mark Alan Rosenberg, 75, of Brooks, WV passed away on July 24th, 2024, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV after a hard fight against an ongoing illness.
He was born on March 24th, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York. The son of the late Irvin and Clare Rosenberg.
Mark was a man of many adventures, talents, and trades, an artist and loving father. He loved to learn new things and excited by creative pursuits, learning about people and their life stories. He enjoyed spending his time outside amongst nature, walking, gardening, traveling around, enjoying music, and spending time with his loved ones. He was known by many in his 50 years in Summers County as the type of person who loved to help others and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He had an eye for recognizing life's simple natural beauties, inspired others with his humor and love of life. He was gentle, kind, and intentional but also loved the opportunity to stand up for what he believed in without backing down. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his two late parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Robert Lewis, of Sedona Arizona.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters Sydney Rosenberg of Chapel Hill, NC and Layla Rosenberg of Beckley, WV; mother of his daughters, Gayle Rancer of Hinton, WV; two sisters, Judy Lewis of Sedona, AZ and Robin Evanosky of Hinton, WV; sister-in-law, Robin Rancer Betts and brother-in-law Wiley Betts of Chapel Hill, NC; nieces Darla and Tessa Evanosky and Rosemary Betts; nephews, Michael Evanosky, Drake Betts, and Scott Eubanks, and many close friends, extended family and loved ones.
A private graveside service and burial will be held on Brooks Mountain. A public celebration of Mark's life will be held on Tuesday July 30, 2024 at Grandview Pavilion Shelter #4, New River Gorge National River in Grandview, WV. The celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will end at sunset.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Rosenbaum House, 30 Family House Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506. This organization provided hospitality and a warm place to stay so that Mark's family could be in Morgantown to support him as he battled his ongoing illness.
