Mark Arvinder-Paul Singh Badwal was perfectly imperfect.
He wore his heart on his sleeve and never could decide whether to apologize for it or not. Nevertheless-he persisted.
Anyone that had the privilege of knowing him knew his heart, his good-will and his good nature.
If you were hungry, Mark would split his sandwich with you. If you were tired, Mark would give you his pillow. And if you had no faith left in life, Mark would remind you that you were worth it.
Perhaps one of his best qualities was his selflessness. For all his accomplishments and relationships, he never wavered from humility.
Perhaps it was the interpersonal struggles he faced that nobody would wish upon their worst enemy, or perhaps it was just his pure heart.
Nonetheless, Mark was a symbol of what we need more of in this world: Love and Faith. Faith that the sun will rise, and that God will grant us another day. And if He does not, faith that one did the best they could in life and is going to a better place.
Love for everyone around him, recognizing our humanity, and the fact that everyone deserves a hug. Mark died of multiple organ failure at St. Mary's Hospital on June 29, 2024.
Mark leaves behind his father Roger, his brother Andrew, his paternal grandfather (Ranjit) and grandmother (Kuldip) and his uncle and aunt Rupi and Jiti Badwal as well as his cousins, Anjali, Rajan, Isha, and Amar all of whom are from Toronto in addition to his girlfriend Jenn (Boston).
He is also survived by his mother's brothers; Chris, his partner Kathy, and Steve and Sue Redford, and sister Becky and Donald Mallow, and his cousins Ethan, Ben, Katie, Joe, Sam and Tom.
Mark would like any funds raised to go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in memory of his hero and his favorite person, his mother, Deborah Ann Redford-Badwal.
Rest in love, joy, and peace Mark, you will be loved, missed, and always in our hearts.
