Mark Alan Slocum, 64, of Arcadia, Indiana, passed away on June 25, 2025. Born October 30, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he honorably served his country as a U.S. Army General COMSEC Repairer.
Mark was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his three children, Travis Slocum, Jocelyn Gamblin, and Caleb Slocum; 13 loving grandchildren; and his siblings, Joyce George, Darla Kern, and Mike Slocum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miriam Fultz Verhines and Robert Slocum, and one dearly missed grandchild.
Mark was full of life—whether he was casting a line on fishing trips, practicing whittling with a pocketknife, sketching in his notebook, or cooking up his famous homemade chicken nuggets for family and friends. He had a rowdy spirit, a ready laugh, and the kind of warmth that made everyone feel welcome.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Jubilee Lodge, 39 S. Front St., Whiteland, IN 46184. All who knew him are invited to share stories, memories, and a nugget (or two) in his honor.
