Mark McKnight Swainston
1957-2024
Mark McKnight Swainston passed away on October 1, 2024, after a brave and resilient fight with cancer. He was born April 8, 1957, in Ogden, UT to Parley and Kathleen Swainston. Mark worked as a Foreman for a Fiberglass Company for three decades building Fiberglass Tanks used for Water Treatment Facilities. One of his tanks was made famous when it made an appearance in the T.V. series, Breaking Bad. Through his work, he traveled to forty-eight of the fifty States in the U.S.
Mark raised his two children, Candice and Marcus, who he was extremely proud of. He sang their praises to friends and family alike. He instilled in them the value of an honest day’s work and taught them the importance of helping others. Mark was the kind of person who would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a social butterfly by nature and loved playing practical jokes. Mark loved collaborating with people on projects and always enjoyed a good laugh. One of his collaborations was a painting of the Utah Jazz Logo in his community. He and several neighbors painted the logo in the center of their cul-de-sac and made International News. We will miss him deeply and will continue to live our lives through the examples he set and carry his memories with us.
Services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Peel Funeral Home, located at 8525 W. Magna Main Street, Magna, UT 84044. A visiting hour will be held from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow immediately after until 12:30pm where we will then head to Pleasant Green Cemetery for burial.
