It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Alan Tester, 69 of Bumpass, Virginia and Crestwood, Kentucky on October 10th, 2025, at U of L Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, after courageously battling a difficult illness for over a year.

Born on May 4th, 1956, in Washington, D.C. to the late John W. Tester Sr. and his living mother Rita B. Tester. He is preceded in death by his older brother Chris Tester and grandson Alex.

He is survived by his former wife Linda, and their four children, Terry Lynn, Krystal Acton (Michael), Rachael Tester (Dean) and Wesley Tester (Nora), his dear grandchildren JD, Cody, Drew, Taylor, Aubrey, Madison, and Canton as well as some great grandchildren, his siblings Julie, Sharon, Johnny, and Colleen all in Florida, his niece and nephews.

He is also survived by his fiancé and dedicated caregiver for over the last year Tracey Hailey and her daughter Chancely Quadri and Chancely’s two sons Elijah and Amir. In addition to his loyal therapy dog Savior.

He devoted 50 years to the masonry trade, where his perfectionism could be seen in every brick he laid. He had true craftmanship, and pride in his work that left a lasting mark on countless buildings and projects throughout the community.

A proud father of four, Mark raised his children with firm guidance and tough love, teaching them the value of hard work, self-reliance, and doing things the right way. Beneath his strong exterior was a man who loved deeply.

When he wasn’t working, he found joy in the simple things that made him who he was, early morning hunting or fishing, and never missing a chance to dance a jig to any good song that came on.

Though his hands are now at rest, the foundation he built in both his work and in our hearts will stand forever.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to consider making donations to the Children’s Miracle Network in his honor. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bumpass, Virginia.
