Mark Thompson, age 62, a resident of Blaine, Minnesota, formerly of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota died on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Southern Oaks Place, in Blaine, Minnesota.
Mark Allan was born on November 18, 1960, in Pelican Rapids, the 6th son of Marvin A. and Olive C. (Erickson) Thompson. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. Mark graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1979 and then completed Moorhead Tech Auto Mechanic Schooling. For numerous years Mark worked at West Central Turkeys was also employed by Johnson Turkey Farms, both in Pelican Rapids. In 2004 Mark moved to Woodland Residence in Ham Lake. In 2018 he moved to Southern Oaks Place in Blaine.
Mark was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mark was known for being an avid motorcycle and car enthusiast.
He is survived by his son Matthew Thompson and fiancé Charlie Lindstrom; brothers: David Thompson, Fred Thompson, and Gary Thompson; and sister Mari Thompson (Blake Meland); nieces & nephews: Aimee Thompson-Arevalo, Andrew Thompson, Micheal Thompson, Glenn Thompson, Julie Volk, Dan Thompson, Peter Thompson, Heather Carlson, Winona Richardson, and Kortni Groft; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Marlin Thompson and Donald Thompson; girlfriend Cindy Kubitz.
Memorial Gathering: Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids with Pastor Eric Schwirian officiating. If you have problems with livestream, we will also have a recording of service later
There will be a private scattering of Mark’s cremains on the Thompson Farm.
