On May 7, 1966, Adrian and Howard Tibbs Sr. welcomed into the world - bright-eyed and bushy-tailed-Mark Edward Tibbs, alongside his twin brother, John. Born at the Magee Women's Hospital, Mark was a Pittsburgh native.
In his early years, mark enjoyed playing with his brothers and spending quality time with his family. Though he was mild-mannered and quiet compared to the rest, mark had a great sense of humor. he enjoyed a good laugh, so much so that he would often imitate the son of Godzilla; he thought it was the funniest thing.
After graduating from Westinghouse High School, Mark attended Le Cordon Bleu-school for Culinary Arts. He could often be found in the kitchen, or on the grill, perfecting his culinary skills.
At the age of 30, he was excited about embarking on the journey of fatherhood as he held his baby girl in his hands. One of the greatest joys of his life, Mark enjoyed spending time with his daughter - Sky, going for walks, and showing her off to his friends and family. he was proud to celebrate her accomplishments and never failed to let her know how much he loved her.
After a life well lived, mark too his final breath on April 7, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
Mark Tibbs was preceded in death by his mother, Adrian Elizabeth Tibbs(Phillips), and his eldest brother, Howard Tibbs Jr. He leaves to mourn his daughter: Sky M. Willis-Tibbs; father: Howard Tibbs Sr.; brothers: John H. Tibbs and Stephen M. Tibbs; nieces: Imani B. Tibbs, Monique T. Tibbs, J'Nasia N. Tibbs, Jaelynn A. Tibbs, and Kayla Minard; grand niece: Kaycei Marie Lynn Minard; nephews: Howard Tibbs III and Tyrell Tibbs. Along with uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and longtime partner Sharon "Toni" Young.
We extend our gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff of Shadyside Hospital that cared for him in his final moments.
You will be deeply missed. In our hearts, you'll remain... FOREVER!
