Mark “Zeke” D. Peterson, 60, of Moorhead, MN, passed away, Monday, June 17, 2024, in Sanford Hospital West Campus, Fargo, ND.
Mark Douglas Peterson was born February 11, 1964, the son of Byron and Marjorie (Jackson) Peterson in Wheaton, MN. He was raised in Wheaton and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1982. In 1985 Mark enlisted in the U.S. Navy and during his time in the service Mark received the Navy Good Conduct Metal, National Defense Service Metal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Metal (with 1 bronze star), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (with one bronze star), Coast Guard Special Operation Service Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
After his discharge from the Navy, he moved to Minneapolis, MN and before settling on a farm near Perley, MN. Over the years he worked as an electrician and in 2000, he moved to Moorhead.
Mark enjoyed fishing – both summer and ice fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed making fishing rods and working on small engines. Most importantly one of his greatest joys was spending quality time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Joey (Sarah) Santana, Louie (Tasha) Santana, Jon (Maggie) Santana, Jasmine (Arturo) Navarro and Kevin Peterson; nineteen grandchildren, Mathias, Maddox, Macallister, Malcolm, Miklo, Marley, Michael, Bentley, Arianna, Ezekiel, Baylee, Jovanni, Javiah, Joaquin, Annabell, Ariel, Addison, Henry and Gabriel; brother, Mike Peterson; niece, Misty; and great-nephew, Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bryon and Marjorie; brother, Kevin; and sister, Brenda.
A Visitation for Zeke will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral and Cremation Service, Moorhead. He will be laid to rest in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN. at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
