Marlene Joan Benbow (née Fulton), beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on August 25, 1931, to Hugh and Leona (née Mahon) Fulton, Marlene lived a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Marlene is survived by her loving children, Susan Kay Benbow and Robert William Benbow Jr., and her cherished grandchildren, John William Mikesch, Mikayla Diane Benbow, and Shayna Nicole Benbow, each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
Marlene was the very heart of her family - a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and enduring grace. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert William Benbow Sr., with whom she shared a life full of love and partnership. She also joins her dear daughter, Nancy Lee Mikesch; her brother, Gary Fulton; and her parents in eternal peace.
Those who knew Marlene often described her as a saint, a woman whose warmth and gentleness touched everyone she met. She was the embodiment of grace, always putting others before herself, and her love knew no bounds. Whether through a comforting word, a shared memory, or a quiet act of generosity, Marlene made the world a better place simply by being in it.
Her presence was a gift, her love a blessing, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation for Marlene will be held on Monday, June 9, from 10am until the time of her funeral service at 11am at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3blks. E. of Van Dyke) in Utica. A burial will take place the same day at 1pm at Glen Eden Memorial Park West in Livonia.
