With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marlene Ann Bowling, maiden name Schaney, who peacefully departed this life on 3 January 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on 2 August 1935 to Walter Schaney and Henrietta Konitzer of Laurel County, Kentucky, and was surrounded by love in her final days.
Marlene lived a life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a generous heart. She was a constant source of love, guidance, and support to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her home and her presence were places of comfort, warmth, and acceptance.
As a sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marlene poured herself into caring for her family, always putting others before herself. She taught by example the values of kindness, perseverance, and compassion—lessons that will continue to live on through the generations she helped shape.
Marlene was known for her welcoming spirit and her willingness to help others without hesitation. Whether through a listening ear, a thoughtful gesture, or steady encouragement, she touched many lives in meaningful ways.
In her passing, Marlene leaves behind a legacy of love that will not fade with time. Though her absence is deeply felt, her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who loved her. We find peace in knowing she is reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death and that her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends of those she left behind.
May Marlene’s memory be a blessing. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
