Marlene "Ma" Thomas Delva, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, at the age of 64, in the comfort of her home in
Dallas, GA.
Born on November 18, 1960, in Petite Rivière de l'Artibonite, Haiti, Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Christian Jerome and Vernlie Thomas. She grew up in Ti Rivière and continued her education in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Ma relocated to the United States where she finished her education earning an Associate's degree in Nursing.
Ma was an unwavering source of love, strength, and guidance. In her early 20s, she married her beloved husband, Arly. Together they raised three children and built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Ma had a passion for helping people, decorating, traveling, shopping, and cooking for her loved ones. She will be remembered most for her poise, fashion sense, intelligence, and a smile that could light up a room.
Ma is survived by her sons, Carlo Guerrier, wife Kenesha; Arshley Delva; daughters, Stacy Delva-McCrimmon, husband Shane McCrimmon; and Phadiana Isaac.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cassandra Guerrier, Carlo Guerrier III (mother Sandra Guerrier), Serenity Delva-McCrimmon, Angel Sincér, and Delva Dalhia. Great grandchildren, Imani Hawkins, Jayden Guerrier, Chloe Guerrier, and Amelia Guerrier. Godchildren, Frantz Sidney, Fabienne Thomas, Ida Lunay, Gardy Guillaume, Jerome Delva, and Kervens Hector.
Ma was predeceased by her husband, Arly Delva and grandson, Sincere Delva-McCrimmon.
Ma is survived by her siblings, Mr. and Mrs. Rodrigue (Ketly) Jerome, Rosevil Jerome, Mona Jerome, Yanick Jerome, Muniflore Jerome, and Magalie Jerome. Nieces and nephews, Samuel C. Jerome, Roudy A. Jerome, Ronald Jerome, Odney Guillaume, Romunie Oculte, Judith Jerome, Fritzer Jerome, and a host of cousins, second cousins, coworkers, and family friends here and in Haiti.
Her legacy of love, grace, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
A viewing will be held on September 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M., followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home, 309 Hardee Street,
Dallas, GA 30132. Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Marlene's life, pay their respects, and share their memories.
