Marlene Fecht

Marlene "Marla" Fecht, of Morton, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Loft of East Peoria.

She was born on July 28, 1958, to Wilbur and Ada (Frey) Fecht. Surviving are her brothers Keith (Jan) and Clyde (Dawn) Mishler.

Marla loved her pet cats and throughout her life they were her good companions. She and Sweet Pea enjoyed the last eleven years together. Marla was a proud Class of 1976 WaCoHi graduate. She also loved reading and going out for lunch with the girls. Debbie, Jan, Maggie, Marianne, Sheryl, Brenda, Kary, and Ronnie were together with her from grade school through the years enjoying their friendship and support of one another through tough times and fun activities together, visiting and loving Marla until the day she died. Ronnie met Marla at Heaven's Gate with a big hug...

Marla had a quiet faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved listening to praise music and singing along and found great peace in scripture and prayer.

Her family would like to thank the staff in the 300 hall at the Loft of East Peoria for their kind care and Vitas Hospice whose entire staff added a sweet layer of comfort to her last weeks of life.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded. A graveside service will be held on a sunny, warm day when her family and friends remember her and say goodbye. Memorial contributions may be made to IL Cancer Care Foundation.
