Marlene Felton Runtas, 89 of McDonald, passed on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was born July 28, 1936 in McDonald, PA; a daughter of Howard and Lucy Dillon Felton.
On November 12, 1955 she married Gerald Runtas, who survives.
Marlene was a graduate of McDonald High School, class of 1954. She worked for over 30 years for the Fort Cherry School District, first as an aide and later as an administrative secretary.
She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of McDonald, where she was very active, holding various offices. She was a Past Matron of McDonald Eastern Star Chapter. After its closing, Marlene became a member of Martha V. Paul chapter in Washington. She enjoyed spending time at their camp in Warren County, PA.
Marlene loved watching the Pirates, Penguins, and especially the Steelers. Win or lose, she was always a fan, even attending two Super Bowls.
She was sure to tell everyone (especially her family) that she has never left "the hill" (High St.), and that every night she looks out the window at the house next door that she was born and raised in.
Her greatest love and joy was her family. She was happiest attending any activity her grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.
She was blessed with three children, Gerald (Teri) Runtas Jr., Crisden (Jeff) Simpson, and Gary (Karen) Runtas; eight grandchildren, Kylie (Ren) Litman, Zachary (Sarah) Simpson, Kacey (Bailey) Fertig, Sarah (Tyler) Crossley, Rachel Runtas, Nathan (Cali) Runtas, Matthew (Allie) Runtas and Hannah (Mitchell) Kile; ten great-grandchildren, Lucy and Lainey Litman, Hannah, David, and Richie Simpson, Vinnie and Henry Fertig, Cynthia Kile, Charlie Schneider, and Londyn Winburn; special nephew, niece, and great nieces and nephew, Pat, Kim, Haley, Billy, and Emily Felton. She was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters and brother in-laws, and friends.
Deceased is a brother, Bill, and stepmother Kathy Felton.
A special Thank You to Tom Bruce and Fort Cherry Ambulance, the nurses and doctors at St. Clair Hospital, and Dr. Chiesa and staff, for the kind care she received from all of them.
