A funeral home service will take place at 2:30 PM.

Cremation will be held privately.

Marlene C. Gray, 88, of Lake Katrine died Sunday September 7, 2025. Born September 22, 1936 in New Symrna Beach, Florida she was the daughter of the late Walter Gray and Tommy Lee Gray. Predeaceased by a brother Walter Gray.

Marlene was the head of Volunteer Services at Benedictine Hospital and Director of Social Setvices in Greenwich, Connecticut from which she retired. Her education was one of her greatest achievements. She had a degree in physical education and another in speech, and later acheived her masters in Social Work.

Marlene was a proud sister of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and part of the Alumni Chapter.

She enjoyed watching football and basketball, played the piano from a young child and played for many churches that she was a member of. She enjoyed swimming since learning to in the ocean of Florida as a child.

Marlene is survived by her daughter Sidra Gatewood and son Keenan Watts, 5 grandchildren Aaron, Avante', Alyssa, Keenan and Ashley. And 8 great-granchildren, Kai, Olivia, Avery, Jonpaul, Karter, Roman, Orion and Niaylah.
