Marlene Hanlon Obituary

Marlene J. (Martz) Hanlon, of Trafford, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, in the Arden Court of Monroeville. Marlene was born in Braddock, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rita (Shannon) Martz. Marlene worked and retired from Westinghouse and then worked and retired from UPS as a customer service representative. She was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford, a volunteer for the Trafford Food Bank, and a docent at the Pittsburgh Zoo, and she loved walking in the blind at the Monroeville Mall. She also loved caring for animals, especially her dogs, Max and Angel; and her cats, Maggie and Freedom. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her siblings, Terry and Carl Martz and Sally Mullen (late Joe). Marlene is survived by her husband of 21 years, Michael J. Hanlon; her stepson, Patrick Hanlon (Kimberly); her siblings, Art Martz (Linda), Barry Martz (Donna), Connie Gnesda (Frank), Jerry Martz, Lisa Augusty (Ed), and Rita Berkheimer; her sister-in-law, Dianna Martz; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family of Marlene would like to thank the staff at Arden Court of Monroeville and Bridges Hospice, especially Dawn, for the care of Marlene. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Service for Marlene will be held at a future date in the spring and will be announced prior to the service. The JOHN M.
