Payne Funeral ChapelMarlene Linda Henry, age 78, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away on March 1, 2026, after a short stay at Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri, under the care of hospice. The daughter of Phil and Velma (Carter) Pender, she was born March 26, 1947, at Milton, Iowa.
On December 28, 1974, she was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Henry. After his passing in 1993, she later met John C. Jordan Sr., and they shared their lives together until his passing in 2023.
Marlene worked as a cashier for Dollar General and also as an in-home caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Red Hat Society. Collecting angels and loving her dogs were among her greatest passions. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children Mark Pender (Donna), her grandson Mark Pender Jr.; 2 great grandchildren, Deanna and Owen Pender; her 2 step granddaughters, Keely Johnson and Haven Stoddard; four sister-in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard Henry; her companion, John C. Jordan Sr.; and her siblings Mildred Spurgeon, Marjorie Harward, Lester Pender, Leo Pender, Lawrence Pender, Lowell Pender, Mary Lou Moffett, Larry Pender, Lynn Pender, and Marcella Pender.
Graveside Celebration of Life service will be held on March 28, 2026 at 2 PM at Milton Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, Iowa. There will be a meal and gathering to follow at the Legion in Milton.
