On February 20, 2024 the world lost a most beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Heaven gained another Angel, but far from an ordinary one, Marlene Kay (White) Martin. Her soul is an extraordinary one.
Born and raised in Baltimore Maryland but spending many summers making memories in West Virginia with many cousins and family members, she moved to West Virginia where she met the love of her life and lived the majority of her adult life. Kay, as everyone knows her, went above and beyond in her devotion to her husband, 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
She devoted her life to provide a safe, loving home to her family and many times, friends. Creating a home filled with the smells of home-cooked meals and goodies. She provided endless joy, laughter and unconditional love, all the things that makes a house a home and what bonds individuals together making a true family.
Her love language was food, feeding and caring for others and their needs. If you were lucky enough to have the chance to eat Kay's pepperoni rolls or any of her cooking and baked goods, you knew with the first bite, her secret ingredient was her love. Kay was the heart and moral compass of her family.
Kay was preceded in death by her father, Roy William White Jr. She was a member of the church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Brian J. Martin; daughters, Heather K. Smith and Mallory M. Smith; grandsons, Gavin B. Smith, Raiden B. Smith, and Marcos M. Martinez; granddaughter, Seraphine M. Fowler; her mother, Janet M. White; 3 brothers; 5 nephews; 3 nieces Kay adored and took joy in spoiling and caring for; as well as her mother in law, Susan Martin; sister in laws; many beloved cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
As per her wishes, Kay will be cremated and there will be no services.
