Marlene J. Minzenberger

Marlene J. Minzenberger, age 91, of Erie, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was born in Erie on February 9, 1934 a daughter of the late John and Genevive (Martin) Kingen.
Marlene worked as a Registered Nurse for greater than 50 years at Hamot Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association, and The Dr. Gertrude Barber Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl J. Minzenberger, Jr. in 2017, her sister Kay Thompson and brothers Dale and Dennis Bonnell.
She is survived by her four children: John Minzenberger (Karen), Janet Minzenberger (Deanna), Julie Blaszczyk (Tony), and Lisa Minzenberger, all of Erie; as well as four grandchildren: Anthony (Kathryn) Blaszczyk, Jillian Bloomstine (Joe), Megan and Hannah Harvey. She is also survived by four great grandchildren Jacob and Aubrey Blasczcyk and Charlotte and Owen Bloomstine. She is further survived by her brother Gary Kingen (Barbara) of Florida, sister Sheila Meehan of Erie, and special niece Theresa Bonnell of Erie.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. A service will be held there on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a funeral mass at St. George Church at 10 am. Burial in Trinity Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. George Church, the Erie Bridge Center, Nurse Honor Guard Chapter of Erie County or the charity of one's choice.
