Paula A. Degenhart “Bumma”, age 82, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at UPMC Hamot.
She was born in Erie on August 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Paul Berg and Annabelle (Walden) Berg.
Paula was previously a co-owner of the HideAway Tavern with her husband Carl. She was also a cook at Westlake Woods Assisted Living.
Paula was a gentle kind soul with a great sense of humor who was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed reading, gardening, attending garage sales and traveling with her family, especially to New York City. Most importantly, Bumma loved spending time with her family and was very proud to be a grandmother and great grandmother. Paula loved Christmas and always made it a special time of year.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Degenhart Sr.; two sisters, Alice Schotsch and Elin Vogel and a stepdaughter, Teresa Degenhart.
She is survived by her twin daughters, Katie Geer (Ron) and Mary Degenhart (Al); five grandchildren, Patrick Vogt, Erik Vogt, Chase Geer, Emma Geer, and Avabelle Geer; one great-grandchild, Vivian Vogt; four nieces and nephews, Lori Schellinger, Jeff Vogel, Greg Vogel, and Mat Vogel; stepchildren, Marjorie “Margie” Monde, Carlton Degenhart, Jr. and Christie Baker; step-grandchildren Carlton “Peanut” Degenhart III., Jessica Marklow, Mitchell Marklow, and Victoria Camilleri; and one step-great grandchild, Oliver Camilleri. She will be further missed by her beloved dog, Tack Daniels.
Services were held private at the convenience of the family by the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie PA 16506.
