Funeral Service Thursday, August 15th, 11 AM with a visitation one hour before at St. John's Lutheran Church, 302 2nd Street NE, Buffalo. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.Marlene J. Rau (Arndt) was born on January 23, 1936 in Browns Valley, MN to Martin and Mary Arndt.
Marlene was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She met Edward Rau and they were married at Holden Lutheran Church in Beardsley Mn. on June 26, 1954.
They farmed in Ortonville and Wheaton, where they began their family together and had four children.
After spending a few years living in North Minneapolis, they moved to their home in Brooklyn Center for 32 years, where Marlene loved working as a waitress for 17 years.
In 1996 they moved to the house they built in Clear Lake, MN & lived there for 17 years.
After Ed's passing in 2009, Marlene moved to a townhome in Buffalo, MN with her precious beloved poodle, Cuddles. Marlene was truly a social butterfly who could strike up a conversation with anyone resulting in many friendships.
She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, baking, cooking and canning.
Country music was her favorite and included trips to Branson and Nashville to enjoy music concerts.
She thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to garage sales, and playing games with family.
Survived by; Son and Daughters, Leonard (Linda) Rau of Brainerd, Pamela (Jim) Richardson of Anoka, Tamera (Mike) Bertsch of Buffalo, Angela (Paul) Stay of Dayton.

Tanya (Grayson),
Tiffany (Joey),
Shane (Stacey),
Sheila (Buck),
Kathleen (Matt),
Derek (Emma),
Dustin (Amy),
and Danielle.
17 Great-grandchildren.
Step grandchildren
Jill, Justin, Julie and step great grandchildren,
sister Gladys Paulsen, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
