Marlene Shirley Tegge (nee Koehn) passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2025, at 81 years old.
Born in Detroit Michigan to Wilbur and Beatrice Koehn, she attended Harper Woods High School and went on to raise 2 children, worked in the home decorating industry with partner and best friend for 40 years, Anita Bailey, and then took ownership and management of Bucks County Antique Gallery in Chalfont PA in 2001.
Marlene started her interior design career at age 16 decorating her bedroom. Her design career culminated with a 25-year run as the owner of this community design and antique studio in Chalfont. She has always had an eye for design and loved art, especially the sculptor, Rodin. She was an avid gardener and floral arranger. She loved peonies and hydrangeas. She was a master in tablescaping. Sitting down at a table to eat was not only a beautiful art form, but one of her favorite things to do to express her love. She always loved to host and organize social, business and charity events both at home and at the store. The events were always memorable. Veterans were dear to her heart. Marlene LOVED Paris and anything French. She loved to travel. Marlene was very resourceful. Her and her friend Cameron loved to spend time together "MacGyvering" anything and then treating themselves to a McDonald's milkshake. Marlene enjoyed time with, cared for and loved her dog Brandy and white dove, Love. Her personality was so big. Her family and friends always comment on how funny she was and how she lit up a room whenever she entered it. All that knew her, have a good story or an endearing adjective to describe Marlene: loving, thoughtful, funny, bubbly, witty, driven, feisty, beautiful, caring, creative, stylish and so many more. If you knew Marlene, you knew Marlene. She was known and loved by so many.
Her best accomplishments were her children, Adam and Christine. Her children, their spouses, and grandchildren loved Nanny deeply. She spent holidays and birthdays and so many trips with them. A trip to Disneyworld was a highlight for her. She was an important part of their lives. There is a huge space in their hearts and lives that has been left by her passing. The space will open to be filled with memories of moments, talks, hugs, kisses and I love yous.
Marlene was the BEST sister ever! She and Karen phoned each other daily and shared the same sarcastic sense of humor. They shared a very special bond that will be cherished forever. What a beautiful relationship.
Marlene is survived by her children: Adam Tegge and his wife Ewa, Christine Bloch and her husband Bob and grandchildren: Alex, Nick, Kristian and Lukas. Helena and Miles, her niece Amy's children, also called her Nanny. Marlene is also survived by her sister, Karen Callewaert and her husband Denis and nieces Amy and Megan and Megan's husband Robert. Marlene is also predeceased by her brother Gary Koehn. Each one of them had a unique relationship with her. She was the best!! She loved her family, and they loved her too.
Services have been private, and arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, New Britain, PA.
We invite you to celebrate Marlene the way she would want you to. Embrace her zest for life (joie de vivre)!!
We know Marlene is comforted by her Creator. "He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protections."-Psalms 91:4
