Marlene Loraine Teuber, aged 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Woodstock on November 14, 2023. Born in Chicago on August 30, 1933, to Edward and Frieda Kremske, Marlene was a cherished wife, mother, and friend. She was married to Robert W. Teuber in 1956 and together they raised four children in Prairie Grove. Marlene, a spirited adventurer, led her family on numerous camping trips, including a memorable six-week journey to Alaska.
Professionally, Marlene dedicated over two decades as the main school secretary at Prairie Grove Grade School, starting in 1972. She was a beloved figure at the school, known for her involvement in various activities and her continued connection with retired staff.
Post-retirement, Marlene and Bob traveled extensively in their motorhome, splitting their time between Illinois and Florida, making friends wherever they went. In her final years, they settled in Woodstock to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
A devout member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, Marlene actively participated in church activities and volunteer work. Her positive spirit and devotion to her family and community left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Robert; children Robert B. Teuber, Donna (Rich) Healless, Lori (Reiner) Hinner , and Jim (Sandy) Teuber; grandchildren, Justen (Kelly) and Jeremiah (Mike Iring) Healless, Gabby and Garett Hinner, and Jameson, Cole, Aidan, and Wyatt Teuber; and great granddaughter, Maggie Healless; and several nieces, nephews and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Norman, and sister Winogene.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 24 from 3pm until a service at 7pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
