Marlene Rose Vardaman "Nanny" age 83, of Toledo, OH passed away April 20, 2025, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Marlene was born in Toledo to the late Alonzo and Jenny Shaner. Besides her parents, Marlene is also preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Vardaman; children: Joseph Wayne and Cynthia; her siblings: Leona, Mary, Marjorie, Verna, Larry, Lester; grandchildren: Sammy, Joanna, JT, Rick, Deblene; her best friend: Peggy.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons: Norman Gayle (Bernadette) Vardaman, Joseph (Dorothy, Diana) Vardaman; daughters: Connie (Cliff) Cirgenski, Debbie (Ken) Burk: life partner: Tillman Bean; 22 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Marlene was a cook for many years at St. James Country Club. She enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino. She loved family get togethers' and spending time with her grandchildren. Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend who will be forever missed.
Visitation will be held at Habegger Funeral Services on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
