Marlon Michael Bohacz was born March 24, 1985, in Lansing, Michigan. He was one of three children born to the union of Michael Bohacz and Gloria (Ventura) Bohacz. Marlon attended Howell High School in Howell, Michigan, graduating with the class of 2003. On August 26, 2013, Marlon enlisted in the United States Marine Corp ultimately obtaining the rank of Sergeant. During his eight years in the Corp, he received numerous individual and unit citations while serving several tours overseas. He received an Honorable discharge in 2021. He then enlisted in the National Guard and was stationed in Maryland.
Marlon was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was truly proud of his service and being a Marine vet "Ooh-rah". His time in the DAV gave him the opportunity to interact and talk with other veterans and active-duty personnel. He enjoyed "rucking" with fellow veterans.
On August 24, 2008, Marlon married the former Alexandra DeStefano in Howell. Together, the couple were blessed with two children: Selene and Bronson. Marlon helped provide for his family through the years as an Operations Manager, Aviation Data Analyst, and lastly as a security guard at Securatech Guard Services, LLC in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Marlon was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying the beauty of mother nature while camping under the stars. He loved college football, always rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and recently attended the Michigan versus Purdue football game in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He loved many genres of music but favored heavy metal bands like Metallica, Southern Rock artist Warren Haynes and various 90's gangster rap artists. He loved his mother Gloria's Filipino cooking but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter.
Marlon Michael Bohacz, age 40 of Carleton, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Friday; November 7, 2025, in Monroe. His passing was preceded by his father: Michael and an infant brother: Michael Bohacz.
To cherish Marlon's memory, he leaves his wife of seventeen years: Alexandria Bohacz; a daughter: Selene Bohacz; a son: Bronson Bohacz; his mother and stepfather: Gloria and Bobb Vergiels; a sister: Dawn (Jason) Volz; a nephew and niece in Sykesville, Maryland; and numerous relatives throughout Michigan.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday; November 21, 2025, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street,
Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Marlon's Life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday; November 22, 2025, also at Merkle's with Pastor Jen Kiefer, assistant to the Bishop at Southeastern Michigan Synod ELCA officiating. Military Honors will be provided under the Auspices of the Monroe Veterans of Foreign War Post 1138 Ritual Team. Cremation will follow through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
