Marlow passed away peacefully the morning of November 26, 2023.
He was born in Sioux Center, Iowa on April 1st 1948 to Gerrit and Gertrude Van Otterloo. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1966 and moved to Mankato where he met the love of his life, Dawna Solomonson. They married on December 18, 1971. They welcomed 2 daughters, Beth and Becca. Marlow loved to get creative and had an artistic side. He worked at Jerry’s Auto Body for many decades, as a certified autobody technician. His passion really was cooking. He absolutely loved trying new and interesting recipes and hosted many dinner parties, to anyone that wanted to come over. He loved to laugh and joke around. He was kind, compassionate, and a loving soul. He was a true support in all the ways that mattered and a wonderful dad and husband.
Preceded in death by his wife, Dawna; parents, Gerrit and Gertrude; brothers, Gary and Curtis; and nephew, David Glasser. Survived by daughter, Beth (Carly) Mingo; grandsons, Ollie and Finn; sister, Judy Glasser (Dave) of Colorado; and great lifelong friends, Harriet and Jim Noreen and Sherry and Paul Schaumburg; and numerous friends, family and neighbors.
Per Marlow’s request there will not be a service.
