Marlyn A. Alft, age 88, of Wisconsin Rapids passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Our House Memory Care in Wisconsin Rapids.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 28, 2025 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at St. John Lutheran Parish Cemetery in the Town of Grant. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Marlyn was born October 28, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids to Edward and Martha (Timm) Saeger. She married Carl Alft in 1977 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner.

Marlyn worked at various places in and around Wisconsin Rapids and retired from Water Works and Lighting Corporation.

Marlyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner and its Ladies Aid. She loved polkas and dancing, a testament to her joyful spirit and zest for life. Her love for card playing turned into a beloved card club, where she spent countless hours enjoying the company of dear friends. Baking was another of Marlyn's talents, with her kitchen always filled with the delightful smells of her culinary creations. But above all else, Marlyn cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their activities and sporting events. Her love for them was immeasurable and something they will always carry in their hearts.

Marlyn is survived by her daughters: Darla (Duane) Doescher of Nekoosa and Brenda Martin of Appleton; grandchildren: Darren (Taylor) Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids and their children Natalya and Embersyn, Shalee Doescher of Wisconsin Rapids and her children Marley and Josie, Ashley (Craig) Decaluwe of Pittsville and their children Brett, Camden, and Raelyn, Amanda (Jim) Slomski of Neenah and their son Miles, and Katie (Gavin) DeCleene of Appleton and their children Levi and Silas; sister Barbara Lundquist of Wisconsin Rapids; brother Mike (Bonnie) Saeger of Wisconsin Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl Alft; son-in-law, Greg Martin; great-grandson, Aiden Slomski; sisters: Joanne (John) Behrend and Doris (Roger) Oleson; brother-in-law, George Lundquist; and niece, Sharon Coley.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Our House Memory Care as well as Nekoosa Court and Heartland Hospice for all the love and care that Marlyn received.
