Rev. Paul G. Mueller

Reverend Paul Gerhardt Mueller went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at The Waterford at Wisconsin Rapids at the age of 87. He was born in Tri Mountain, MI on May 3, 1938, to the late Rev. Paul G and Ellen E. Mueller

Paul graduated from Concordia Junior College in St. Paul Minnesota. Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, IN and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He served St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett, IA where he met his future wife, Sandra Hein. They were married May 28, 1972, and were blessed with two children, Tara Mueller of Westmoreland, TN and Karl Mueller of Menasha, WI.

Paul also served at St. Paul's Kankakee, IL, Christ of the Bay in Green Bay, WI and St. John in Wisconsin Rapids until his retirement in 2003. While at Kankakee he served as secretary for the Kankakee Pastors Conference. In Wisconsin Rapids he chaired the Cranberry Country Clergy for several years and also served as treasurer for the North Wisconsin District Pastors Conference for a number of years.

After his retirement Paul and Sandra spent winters in Florida and much of the summer at their cabin on Pickerel Lake, WI. It was there that Paul taught his family how to fish and appreciate God's creations. Paul also worked part time as a tax preparer for H&R Block, he did seasonal work taking orders for FIGI's in Stevens Point, he did pulpit supply for local churches and served as a visitor for the home bound at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

One of Paul's greatest joys was having our granddaughters, Alexandra and Morgan, visit during the summer. We would go to the cabin, take short trips, work with flowers and take walks with some serious discussions.

Paul was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was known for having a shorter Sunday service if the Packers had a noon game.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sandra, his children Tara (Jerome Hooge) Mueller and Karl Mueller; his granddaughters, Alexandra Maddox and Morgan Rye; his sister Erika (Robert) Robeson, brother-in-law Dale (Kathy) Hein, sisters-in-law Cindy (John) Gibson and Twyla (Kim Cross) Hein.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Esher Mueller.

A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
