Marlene Mae Murray, age 87, of Nekoosa, WI passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 in Nekoosa, WI.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Nekoosa United Church of Christ in Nekoosa, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial rites will be held at Green Hill Cemetery in Nekoosa, WI.
Marlene was born on November 30, 1937 in Adams County, WI to the late Frank Jr. and Anna (Schuster) Capek. She married Fred Allen Murray on September 2, 1972 at the United Church of Christ in Nekoosa, WI. Marlene was born and raised in Nekoosa, WI. She took great pride in her family farm and land on County Z, which she loved dearly. Professionally, Marlene worked in the accounts receivable department for Johnson Hill's department store for many years. Marlene was a proud member of the Adam's County Historical Society, Western Fraternal Life Association, American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post # 442, and the Czech & Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois. In her spare time, Marlene enjoyed Sewing, Crafting and cooking.
Marlene is survived by many cousins and other extended family members.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Fred A. Murray; and her parents, Frank Jr. and Anna Capek.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Nekoosa UCC, Historic Point Basse and South Wood County Humane Society.
